I am licensed as a Professional Counselor by the State of Virginia. I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Community Counseling. My postgraduate studies have focused on treating and understanding Trauma, Maternal Mental Health and Mindfulness training.
I am a native of Richmond Virginia but have called Northern Virginia my home for over 20 years. My previous mental health work experience includes working with the severely mentally ill in Washington, DC, Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter and Fairfax County Office for Women and Domestic and Sexual Violence Services.
I also have experience presenting to other professionals and the community. Topics include, psychobiology of trauma, working with victims of assault, crisis intervention and self-care for women. I also have experience running groups with both a DBT focus and psycho-educational support groups.
